Famous Philadelphia Bar Introduces Cocktails-only Tasting Menu
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Chef's tasting menus abound in Philadelphia, but have you ever heard of a cocktail tasting menu?
The city's renowned cocktail bar, The Franklin, has introduced just that, and they're billing it as the only cocktail tasting menu in Philly.
Created by Head Bartender Sarah Justice, the initial five-course cocktail tasting was inspired by Justice's Pennsylvania Dutch heritage. It's called "Dutch County Memories," and features drinks that are reminiscent of shoo fly pie, birch beer and plum pudding.
Justice says the tasting menu will change each month and will be seasonally-inspired. In addition to the five cocktail "courses," there are also two "supplemental libations" included in the $65-a-head price tag.
