Search Continues For Missing College Student Shane Montgomery; $40K Reward Offered

By David Spunt

PHILADELPHIA  (CBS) -- Friends, family and complete strangers braved the rain Wednesday morning to hang new missing posters of Shane Montgomery.

Crews covered the Manayunk area, where Montgomery was last seen after 2 a.m. Thanksgiving morning.

Almost one week later, his close friend and roommate, Ryan McGilloway walked the streets to hang up fliers.

"Somebody knows something," he said.

McGilloway and friends planned a vigil for Montgomery at West Chester University Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. in front of the student union.

The campus community came together in a show of support and strength.

"Just the fact that he's gone is making the atmosphere on campus different," said friend Johanna Rodriguez.

"It's really hard walking around knowing that he should be on those streets with us also, especially just because it's already Tuesday and he has so many classes that we should have already crossed paths."

On the campus of West Chester University, candlelight brought together his family, friends and strangers.

"We need to just get as many thoughts and prayers out there as we possibly can so no better place to do that than a college campus really," said friend Liz Chiocco.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at (215) 418-4000.  The reward is at $40,000 after Shane's father's employer, Bimbo Company, donated an additional $9,000.
