Fairmount Park Mansions Ready For The Holiday Season

By Justin Udo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The historic houses of Fairmount Park are decorated and ready for the holiday season with doors open for visitors to come and explore.

The halls are decked, the trees are glowing, and the smell of fresh-baked gingerbread is in the air.

"Our theme is 'Charms of Yesteryear,' and this is a charming place to come for the holidays," says Alma Jacobs, involved with the tour since its inception in 1976.

Jacobs says this year, they have something new for visitors.

"On Saturday, December 6th, we will have the Holly Trolley," Jacobs says. "It's really a wonderful experience."

Jacobs says the free trolley picks up visitors on Boathouse Row and takes them to all seven mansions on the tour.
