Facebook Launches 'Privacy Basics' To Help Eliminate Confusion About Its Privacy Settings

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Most of us remember the rumors that swirled when Facebook introduced its new messenger app. Some said, "it sends text messages to your contacts," and "it can read all of your personal information!" Luckily, that was not really the case.

So this time around Facebook is being proactive as it announces its new terms and policies by introducing Privacy Basics.

Facebook says Privacy Basics "offers interactive guides to answer the most commonly asked questions about how you can control your information on Facebook."

The "basics" explain untagging, unfriending someone, blocking and how to choose an audience for your post.

The social network says Privacy Basics "is the latest step we've taken to help you make sure you're sharing with the people you want."
