Facebook Adds Video Chat To List Of Features

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Facebook is rolling out a new feature that will allow video chatting on its Messenger app.
At first, Facebook users were resistant when the social network moved its messaging feature into a separate app, but today more than 600-million people use the Messenger app every month.
In its latest update, Facebook has added the ability to video chat with other users.
To start a video call, users can tap the video camera icon inside a message on the upper right-hand side of the screen. Provided both you and your contact have a stable 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi connection, Facebook says there shouldn't be a problem striking up a video conversation.
Plus, it works between iPhones and Android phones, so it's got a serious edge on FaceTime, which only connects people on iOS devices.
At the company's F-8 developer conference in March, founder Mark Zuckerberg announced a host of new Messenger features, including the integration of gifs, a payment service and connecting people with customer service for businesses on Facebook.
