A line of strong and possibly severe thunderstorms is approaching Berks county, the Lehigh Valley and Poconos from the west and will continue to race eastbound across the Delaware Valley through early evening.

The primary threat is the potential for damaging winds in excess of 60 to 70 mph. Large hail and an isolated tornado are possible.

Any showers or storms that develop could impact any travel.

Expected arrival time of this line of storms in Center City Philadelphia is between 5:30 and 7:30pm.

A 'watch' means conditions are favorable for the development of severe weather. A 'warning' means severe weather is occurring or imminent.

Cooler temperatures and lower humidity levels are expected to return for the middle of this week.
