Expo Center in Oaks, Pa. Ready to Welcome National Dog Show Entrants

OAKS, Pa. (CBS) -- A premier dog show takes place next weekend in Montgomery County, Pa.

The National Dog Show, hosted by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia, takes place at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks on November 15th and 16th.

David Frie, the show's expert analyst, says it's a "benched" dog show, so he'll be meeting both the dogs and their handlers.

"It gives you the opportunity to come in and see all the dogs you want to see.  If you are thinking about a dog for your family it's very important for you to have some time with some responsible breeders and people who are bringing you the next generation of healthy happy dogs hopefully to sit on your couch some day."

Two breeds recently recognized by the American Kennel Club will be judged for the first time in the National Dog Show:  the coton de tuléar (top photo) and the wirehaired vizsla (below).
