Mothers In Charge Exhibit Uses Portraits To Demonstrate Toll Violence Takes On Children

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Mothers in Charge held its annual conference earlier this week. One of the exhibits included portraits of innocent children killed by violence.
Judy Ringold, director of Lost Dreams on Canvas, says the program was founded in 1993. Volunteer artists paint portraits of innocent children killed by violence.
"Since that time we've painted over, probably close to 500 portraits, we've hardly, ya know, there are just so many more to paint."
Ringold says the exhibit is taken around to schools and other venues to demonstrate the toll violence takes, especially on young lives.
However, the program is currently without funding and is in need of more volunteer artists.
