PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Many people believe that creeping cholesterol levels typically go hand-in-hand with aging. But it doesn'thave to be that way, especially if you exercise.

In a a recent study, a group of more than 11,000 men without high cholesterol, heart disease, or cancer underwent regular fitness assessments. They also checked in with less ldl or "bad" cholesterol and triglycerides.

As they aged, fit men's cholesterol levels stayed more favorable. That's compared with those who didn't keep in shape.
