'Evita' Returns To The Stage At The Academy Of Music

By Andrew Kramer

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's been over 30 years since "Evita" first appeared on Broadway, and a new production is coming to the Academy of Music beginning June 17th as part of Broadway Philadelphia presented by the Kimmel Center and Shubert Organization.

"The exciting piece here is authenticity," explains Kimmel Center president and CEO Anne Ewers.

She says this production truly reflects modern day Argentina.

"What's so thrilling about this production is to see something that its creators have gone back to their work of 30 plus years ago -- they've re-envisioned it, they've found a way to make it relevant for today."

And she says the music will captivate you every time.

"You never ever get tired of these songs."
