Erika Loves Philly

When I moved to Philadelphia in the Summer of 2010, I remember being thrilled to have four seasons again.   It had been years since I had enjoyed a crisp Fall day or watched snow fall from underneath a cozy blanket.   Looking back, my affection for snow storms has waned, but I have found so much more to love about Philly.

Everything from the city's rich history, to its world-class museums and theaters, and treasure trove of BYOBs have found a place in my heart.   Picnicking on Kelly Drive in the Summer, and strolling through Christmas Village in the Winter are just some of the seasonal traditions I will miss.

I also take with me wonderful memories from working at CBS3.   The stories I've covered have varied as much as my haircuts!   I loved being on the field for the Phillies home opener, anchoring live coverage of the Pope's visit to Philly from the Parkway, and even feeding the hippos at Adventure Aquarium.

But more than the stories I've covered, I will always think of Philly first as the place I met Charles, the man I'm going to marry.   There is no greater gift the city could have given me.

We're tying the knot this June and will move soon afterward.   While I can't say I'll miss the snow, I will miss all of the incredible people I've had the privilege of calling my colleagues and friends.   And to all of the terrific viewers who open their homes to us every morning, I offer a heartfelt thank you.
