Elton Brand Says He Will Retire After Preseason
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Elton Brand has announced his decision to officially retire after the preseason on Thursday. The Sixers will play their final preseason game on Friday, October 21st.

Brand, 37, came out of retirement last January to re-join the Sixers and help with player development. Brand, a two-time all-star, was the No. 1 overall pick of the Chicago Bulls in 1999. Brand played for the Bulls, Clippers, Sixers, Mavericks, and Hawks.
Brand's first stint with the Sixers was from 2008-2012. His best Sixers season came in 2010-11 when Brand averaged 15.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
