Election Preview: Congressional Races Across Philly Suburbs

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- There are a handful of Congressional races in the Philadelphia suburbs on Tuesday.

The congressional balance in the region seems likely to hold, with one possible exception: The 8th congressional district in Bucks County and parts of Montgomery County. Republican Mike Fitzpatrick is not running for re-election, but his brother, former FBI agent Brian Fitzpatrick, is seeking the seat. He's up against Democratic State Representative Steve Santisiero.

In the 6th district with parts of Chester and Montgomery Counties, Republican Ryan Costello is seeking a second term, up against Democrat Mike Parrish.

Republican Pat Meehan is seeking a fourth term in a rematch against Democrat Mary Ellen Balchunis in the 7th district in Delaware County. Meehan topped Balchunis by 24 points in 2014.

Other congressional races: In the 1st district in Philadelphia, Bob Brady looks for a 10th term against Republican Debbie Williams. State Rep Dwight Evans faces Republican businessman James Jones in the 2nd district; Chaka Fattah's former seat. And in Northeast Philly, the 13th District, Brendan Boyle is unopposed as he seeks a second term.
