Elderly Woman Allegedly Robs 2 NJ Banks In 24 Hours

HAMILTON, NJ (CBS) – Police in New Jersey are investigating a series of bank robberies within a 24 hour time span, allegedly committed by an elderly woman.

Hamilton police say they spoke with a bank employee who advised the officers that a white female entered the bank at which time the suspect approached a bank teller and handed a note to the employee demanding money.

She received an unknown amount of money before fleeing.

Eyewitnesses say the woman was not armed, and so far no injuries have been reported.

Officials released several images of the suspect after a T.D Bank on Whitehorse-Hamilton Square road was robbed at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Police say she is believed to be 60-70 years old, 5'6" in height and has blonde hair.

In another similar robbery, the suspect robbed a TD Bank at 3470 Quakerbridge Road at about 9 a.m. Saturday.

In all robberies, the woman handed the teller a note demanding money, and reportedly had no weapon present.
