Elderly Man In Critical Condition After Vicious Attack In South Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An elderly man is in critical condition after a violent attack in South Philadelphia early Tuesday morning.

The attack happened at about 5:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of Moore Street.

According to investigators, the elderly man was violently beaten by two suspects outside his home.

The victim was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is listed in critical condition.

So far, no arrests have been made. Investigators believe the motive for the attack was robbery.

A description of the attackers was not immediately available.
