PALMER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS/AP) – Police are on the hunt for an 80-year-old man after they discovered his wife's body inside a home on the 100 block of Old Orchard Drive in Palmer Township, Northampton County. Police say the suspect is Edgar Himel.
Palmer police found 66-year-old Penny VanTassel-Himel when they went to her home early Sunday to check on her welfare. The Northampton County district attorney's office says she apparently had been dead for several days, but further details have not been disclosed.
An autopsy was due to be performed Monday.
Authorities were still looking Monday for VanTassel-Himel's husband. He was last seen driving away from the couple's home.
Police say Himel is driving a dark green 2019 Nissan Rogue.
The license plate is GHV0051.
Authorities did not say where he may be headed but said Himel should be considered armed and dangerous.
