PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It was originally reported that the Philadelphia Eagles would receive offensive lineman Josh Kline and a 2018 fourth-round pick from the Patriots for cornerback Eric Rowe.

However, the Eagles announced the the trade on Wednesday, and Kline is not involved at all. In fact, he was released by the Patriots.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday that the 2018 fourth-round pick could become a third-rounder, based on Eric Rowe's playing time in New England.

Rowe, 23, was the Eagles' second-round pick (No. 47) in 2015 and has shown the ability to play both corner and safety. Rowe had one interception and five pass defenses as a rookie.

Rowe signed a four-year contract in the Spring of 2015.
