Eagles Snaps Need To Be Addressed

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — One of the Eagles issues on Sunday in their 21-10 victory over the previously undefeated Minnesota Vikings were the shotgun center snaps between Jason Kelce and Carson Wentz. Some were low, forcing Wentz to reach down and grab them.

But Eagles coach Doug Pederson didn't place the onus squarely on Kelce's snaps during his day-after press conference at the NovaCare Complex on Monday.

"There were (problems)," Pederson acknowledged. "A little bit center, a lot of it quarterback actually. It's something as a quarterback, again, he [Carson Wentz] just took his eyes off the ball, was looking at his read, whether it was a defensive line or a linebacker, and just didn't secure the football. [Jason] Kelce wasn't perfect. The balls were off to the right just a touch and so it was a little bit of the center, a little bit more of the quarterback just taking his eyes off the ball."

Pederson ruled out the possibility of Wentz trying to do too much. He stressed the importance that the Eagles need to keep working on the little things.

In finishing, Pederson said, that is something the Eagles still have to do.

"We didn't have our best execution against Washington, and we had the lead late in the game against Detroit and didn't execute offensively," Pederson said. "It takes a full 60 minutes game, concentration, do your assignment. It's something our guys need to learn to do as the season goes on."
