Eagles Release DeMeco Ryans To Save Cap Space
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- 'Mufasa' is leaving Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Eagles have released linebacker DeMeco Ryans, the team announced on Wednesday.

The 31-year-0ld linebacker was entering the final year of his contract with an expected $4.5 million cap hit. The Eagles will save $3.5 million by releasing Ryans.
Ryans spent the last four seasons with the Eagles. His best season came in 2013 when he recorded 127 combined tackles, four sacks, and two interceptions in 16 games.
DeMeco Ryans was a slam dunk cut. 31, deteriorating, cap casualty. PHI saves $3.5M on 2016 cap. Ryans will be remembered fondly in Philly.
