Eagles One Of Seven Lottery Drawn Teams Able To Attend National Championship

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- According to NFL.com, the Eagles are one of seven NFL teams that have won a credential for Monday night's College Football National Championship game between Oregon and Ohio State.

The other six teams that will be in attendance are the New York Jets, Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams, Houston Texans, Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers.

The main attraction for scouts will be Heisman Trophy winner and projected top 2015 NFL draft pick, Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota. Mariota, of course, played for Chip Kelly prior to Kelly joining the Eagles. Mariota threw for a ridiculous 4,121 yards, 40 touchdowns, and just three interceptions this season, adding 731 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns.

While the Eagles do not pick until No. 20 in the first round of the 2015, some fans are still hopeful Mariota ends up in midnight green.

There is no word yet on who will be scouting the National Championship game for the Eagles.
