Who did the Eagles pick in the NFL draft? Meet Philadelphia's 2024 draft class

St. Joe's Prep alumni Marvin Harrison Jr., Jeremiah Trotter Jr. await their fates in 2024 NFL Draft

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The NFL draft has come and gone and proved to be a busy three days for the Philadelphia Eagles. Philly entered this year's draft with eight picks but ended up with nine rookies in their 2024 draft class, and general manager Howie Roseman made multiple trades throughout the three-day selection showdown.

Here are all of Philadelphia's picks from the 2024 NFL draft.

Eagles draft picks from Round 1

The Eagles drafted cornerback Quinyon Mitchell out of Toledo with the 22nd overall pick Thursday night.

Mitchell is the first cornerback the Eagles have drafted in the first round since Lito Sheppard in 2002.

Mitchell was ranked as the best cornerback of the draft by CBS Sports and the No. 8 overall prospect.

Eagles draft picks and trades from Round 2

After the Eagles traded up to the No. 40 pick, the Birds drafted cornerback Cooper DeJean from the University of Iowa.

Another playmaker in the secondary, DeJean can play both cornerback and safety.

DeJean allowed no touchdowns on 374 coverage snaps last season, isn't out of position much and has significant athleticism that would make him a success at cornerback or safety. DeJean also had a top-30 visit with Philly.

The Eagles traded their No. 50, 53 and 161 picks to the Washington Commanders to draft DeJean at No. 40, plus a 78 and 152 pick.

Eagles draft picks and trades from Round 3

With the No. 94 overall pick, the Eagles drafted edge rusher Jalyx Hunt from Houston Christian University.

The Eagles entered the third round with pick 78 but traded back with the Houston Texans for the 86th and 123rd picks. They then traded back again, sending the 86th pick to the San Francisco 49ers for No. 94, where they drafted Hunt, and 132.

Hunt is a 6-foot-4 edge rusher who was the 2023 Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year. He also earned First Team All-Southland Conference honors.

He led the team with nine tackles for loss and recorded 6.5 sacks.

Eagles draft picks and trades from Round 4

After some on-the-clock drama, the Eagles selected Clemson running back Will Shipley 127th overall.

During his tenure at Clemson, Shipley rushed for 2,747 yards and 31 touchdowns on 526 rushing attempts. He also racked up 602 yards in the passing game in addition to his two touchdowns on 85 receptions in 36 career games.

Shipley's versatility also includes being a solid returner, accumulating 904 yards from 36 kickoffs.

The Eagles made multiple trades in the fourth round. They previously had the 120th overall pick from the Pittsburgh Steelers, but then flipped it to the Miami Dolphins for a 2025 third-round pick.

The Birds also traded pick 123 to the Houston Texans, moving back to 127th overall. In exchange for those few spots, they received a 2025 fifth-round pick.

The Eagles also traded the 132nd overall pick (from the San Francisco 49ers) to the Detroit Lions.

Eagles draft picks and trades in Round 5

The Eagles drafted wide receiver Ainias Smith out of Texas A&M University with the 152nd overall pick Saturday afternoon.

In Smith's 2023 season, he racked up 795 yards on 53 receptions and only two touchdowns. Smith is also an experienced returner, recording two punt returns for touchdowns during his five-year tenure with A&M.

The Birds later traded picks 164 and 201 to the Indianapolis Colts to move up and select Clemson linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. with the 155th overall pick.

Trotter Jr. is a South Jersey native who played high school at St. Joseph's Preparatory School in Philly and is the son of Eagles Hall of Fame linebacker Jeremiah Trotter.

While playing at Clemson University, Trotter Jr. led the Tigers this past season with 87 tackles, 14.5 stops behind the line of scrimmage and two interceptions.

Trotter's father is longtime NFL linebacker Jeremiah Trotter, who played 11 seasons in the pros with Philadelphia, Washington and Tampa from 1998-2009.

Trotter Jr. was a Second Team All-American a year ago.

Next, the Birds traded pick 171 to the New York Jets for picks 185 and 190.

The Eagles then drafted guard Trevor Keegan out of the University of Michigan with the 172nd overall pick.

Keegan played all 15 games for the Wolverines in their 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship campaign.

Eagles draft picks and trades in Round 6

The Philadelphia Eagles drafted wide receiver Johnny Wilson out of Florida State University with the 185th overall pick.

Wilson a, 6-foot-6 wideout, completed his 2023 season with 41 receptions, 617 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

In their last pick of the 2024 NFL draft, the Eagles drafted offensive lineman Dylan McMahon out of NC State with the 190th overall pick.

What was the Eagles' draft grade for 2023?

The Eagles came out from the 2023 NFL draft with seven players, including three more Georgia Bulldogs and the AP Rookie of the Year Award runner-up, Jalen Carter. CBS Sports Senior NFL Columnist Pete Prisco gave the Birds' draft last year as an A.

"Howie Roseman killed it with his haul this year. Getting Carter and Nolan Smith in the first round with their two picks is an impressive draft for a team that needed to get young players up front,"  Prisco wrote. "Third-round guard Tyler Steen is a good player, who will be a starter in a year to two. Then they traded to land running back D'Andre Swift from the Lions. Nice job."
