Furthermore, Howard Eskin reports Eagles head coach Chip Kelly---who also has personnel control---was getting pressure from within the organization to release the veteran wide receiver.
Austin, 31, had 13 catches for 224 yards and one touchdown in 11 games played as an Eagle.
Austin was not one of the active players in the Eagles' win over the Patriots on Sunday.
