Eagles Injury Report: LB Acho Is Questionable For Cowboys Thanksgiving Game

By Kevin McGuire

The Philadelphia Eagles will once again be without quarterback Nick Foles when the team takes on the Dallas Cowboys Thursday in Thanksgiving NFC East action. Linebacker Emmanuel Acho is also listed as questionable for the big Thursday afternoon showdown, but every other player appearing on the injury report this week is listed as probable and should be ready to go when the battle for first place in Arlington takes place.

With Foles still out with a collarbone injury, the Eagles will continue to put Mark Sanchez in charge of running the offense on the field. So far, Sanchez has been capable of handling the job, although he has shown frustration with the number of turnovers he has been responsible for on the field. Whether cutting down on interceptions or fumbles, Sanchez will have to protect the football better this week if the Eagles are to leave Dallas with a hold of first place in the NFC East. Foles was throwing the football on the field during team warm-ups last weekend, but his return to game action is still weeks away it seems. Matt Barkley will continue to fill the role of back-up quarterback in case Sanchez needs to be taken out for any reason.

Young tight end Zach Ertz (oblique) and wide receiver Jordan Matthews (knee) each are listed as probable for this weekend's game. Both took part in full practices this week. Offensive tackle Jason Peters (quadriceps) also took part in full practices this week and is probable for the Cowboys game.

On defense, safety Nate Allen (ankle) and defensive end Brandon Bair (elbow) each are probable after a full week of practice. The concern comes with linebacker Emmanuel Acho, who is questionable with a groin injury. Acho was limited in practices all week, so his availability for Thursday does not look good. Acho has been filling in at linebacker in place of injured starters DeMeco Ryans or Mychal Kendricks. Without Acho, look for Casey Matthews to fill more time. Matthews is listed as a starter at inside linebacker next to Kendricks.

Rookie kicker Cody Parkey has been very reliable all season and has put together a case for a spot in the Pro Bowl. Parkey has a right groin injury, but that has not stopped him from a full week of practice. Listed as probable, Parkey should be counted on to handle field goals on Thursday.
