Officials: Lehigh County Man Charged With Assaulting Police Horse After Eagles Game

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) –  A Lehigh County man is under arrest for assaulting a police horse after the Philadelphia Eagles playoff game last Saturday.

Philadelphia police say 22-year-old Taylor Hendricks of Whitehall is charged with aggravated assault, assault of a law enforcement officer, and cruelty to animals.

All because he allegedly attacked a police horse after being ejected from Lincoln Financial Field.

Police say Hendricks was tossed out of the game for being intoxicated and not having a ticket.

After he was escorted out, police say Hendricks walked over to a mounted police officer and began punching the horse in the face, neck and shoulders.

The officer was punched in the legs. Another officer came over and grabbed Hendricks, and placed him in custody.

The horse and officer did not suffer serious injury in the attack.
