Eagles Fans Trying To Stay Composed As Team Continues To Exceed Expectations

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- "I was a serious doubter."

"I was little iffy."

It was a match up that shocked even those who consider themselves the most devoted Philadelphia Eagles fans, but that fear turned to confidence on Sunday night as the Birds dominated the Steelers 34-3.

"It was unbelievable," said Timothy Burns. "I was waking up all the neighbors."

One big question is whether rookie quarterback Carson Wentz would hold his own against the Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger, but after the future Hall of Famer threw an interception and got sacked four times...

"I looked at Roethlisberger and I just felt really really bad," Jenae Mason said.

For the past several weeks, Wentz jerseys, marked number 11, have been number one in sales at Forman Mills in Pennsauken, N.J., according to store manager Maria Morales.

"I'd say over 40-50 and we only have four left so they're going," Morales said. After each Eagles win, fans get a cup of joe from Dunkin Donuts. We saw several excited fans stop by a store in Cherry Hill.

Despite the hype, Keith Shareef isn't getting his hopes too high just yet. "Three games in, you can't base a whole season off that, like now we're going to the Super Bowl. Nah, nah, nah. Ask me eight games in."

"The Eagles. We're always the underdogs. I love how people doubt us, because we are resilient and we always find a way to come back."
