Eagles Fan Misses 20K Field Goal, Still Rewarded Money Toward Local High School

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia resident Cory Bachstein made his debut at the Linc' Sunday afternoon as a kicker. Bachstein attempted a 30-yeard-field goal at halftime in the "Santander Field Goal Challenge."

Although his kick was shy, Santander will award him a $2,500 consolation prize, as well as a $2,500 donation to Pennsbury High School.

"I was born and raised in an Eagles family so getting the chance to stand on the field where the team plays was awesome," said Bachstein. "I trained hard and gave it my best shot and while I wish the football had gone through the goal posts, it has still been an incredible experience. I can't thank Santander enough for this amazing opportunity. I'm getting married this coming year so the prize money will go towards our honeymoon."

A successful kick would have earned Bachstein a $10,000 cash prize and a $10,000 donation to Pennsbury High School, which he selected before the challenge. Bachstein was part of the school's soccer team when he was a student there, and credits that for his success in the competition.

Bachstein successfully completed a 35-yard field goal during the Santander Field Goal Challenge Tryouts, where he received pointers from Eagles kicker Caleb Sturgis.
