Eagles-Cowboys To Be Officiated By Crew With Highest Flag Rate

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Flags, flags, and more flags. Expect more of the same on Sunday night.

Jerome Boger's crew, which is averaging and NFL most 20.3 penalties called per game this season, will be officiated this week's marquee Sunday Night Football matchup between the Birds and the Boys.

The NFL average for penalties called in a game is 16.5, per ESPN.com. Boger's crew has yet to call less than 18 in six games this season. Furthermore, Boger's crew has called a league high 37 passing penalties (offensive pass interference, defensive pass interference, illegal contact and defensive holding).

With Dez Bryant back from injury, the Eagles will have to keep their hands off of him.

The Cowboys are averaging just 6.6 penalties per game, fourth-fewest in the NFL. The Eagles, however, are averaging 10.2 per game. That's third-worst in the NFL.
