Eagles Chances To Make Playoffs About 40-Percent

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- According to FiveThirtyEight.com, the Eagles still have a 39.5% chance to reach the postseason.

Furthermore, the Eagles have---according to the study---a 33.7% chance at winning the division, which means they have a 5.8% chance at earning a wild-card birth.

While the Eagles are one game behind the Cowboys in the NFC East, a win over the Redskins coupled with a Dallas loss to the 10-4 AFC South champion Indianapolis Colts, will put the Birds back in the driver's seat.

The Eagles are the only team in FiveThirtyEight.com's top eight "generic points favorite" teams, with a lower playoff percentage than the Steelers' 82.9%. According to the site, "Generic points favorite" is "what you would expect a team to be favored by against a league average opponent on a neutral field."

The Eagles "generic points favorite" is 3.0 points, seventh best.
