LANCASTER, Pa. (CBS) -- The Amber Alert worked.

You may recall police arrested two suspects in connection with the abduction of two young children in Lancaster County last week (See Related Story).

CBS 3's Ileana Diaz spoke with the tipster who helped police locate the children.

"I just couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe I saw them. But I'm glad I could help."

Chris Governa was driving to work earlier than usual Friday morning when news about two missing children caught his attention.

"I heard the news report and I heard the license plate was JJG something," he said.

It was around Exit 57 where Chris tells Eyewitness News he first noticed the car in front of him may have belonged to the two suspects, so he inched a little closer.

"I called 911. I said what are last four digits of the license plate for the Amber Alert. They said it's 8170. I said I got him right in front of me."

Chris saw the car exit a few miles later and told police, who eventually tracked them down on Route 1 near the Schuylkill.

Chopper 3 video shows the two men in custody and the two missing kids reunited with their mother.

The mother's translator says, "She thought something bad was going to happen to her kids."

Luckily, nothing did, all because of a phone call Chris tells us he never thought he'd have to make.

"I think anybody would have done it. It'ss just right place, right time is what it was. I just happened to be, alert," he said.

We now know the two suspects.  One is the mother's former boyfriend and children's father, Eddie Ahorrio Jr., and the other, Eddie Ahorrio Sr., their grandfather.

Both are charged with kidnapping and assault.
