New Jersey Weather: Heavy Rains, Flooding Leaves Drivers Stranded Along I-295, PATCO To Resume Service
BELLMAWR, N.J. (CBS) - Heavy rains and flooding caused a traffic mess for drivers in parts of South Jersey and forced PATCO to suspend service on Thursday morning. PATCO, however, will resume service at noon.

Crews worked throughout the morning to rescue people from their cars trapped in floodwaters after Wednesday night's heavy rains.
I-295 in Bellmawr, New Jersey was closed around 4 a.m. due to flooding. Traffic was backed up for miles in both directions as drivers waited for the water to recede. Crews reopened I-295 around 6:40 a.m.

Eyewitness News cameras also spotted several water rescues overnight, including along Route 130 and Crescent Boulevard in Collingswood. At least five cars were stranded in that area around 4 a.m.

The heavy rains and flooding also caused PATCO to suspend service. Service was suspended between Lindenwold and Broadway due to storm damage at several New Jersey stations and track areas.
Service will resume at noon.
