Driver Dead After Collision With Tractor-Trailer In Chester County, State Police Say

LONDONDERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- A tractor-trailer accident left one person dead and closed a portion of Route 41 in Chester County on Tuesday. According to Pennsylvania State Police, an SUV and a tractor-trailer collided just after 4 a.m. at Gap Newport Pike and Faggs Manor Road.

Officials say the SUV was traveling southbound on Gap Newport Pike when it crossed over into the northbound lane and was struck by a tractor-trailer.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.

Route 41 is shut down in both directions between Street Road and Limestone Road.

This crash is still under investigation.
