Drexel Hosts Art Exhibit Showcasing Previous Homeless Men And Women

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Drexel University is hosting an exhibition that features art work produced by more than a dozen formerly homeless men and women.
"It's a stepping stone for people who are experiencing some isolation ,who are experiencing hardship." said Rachel Ehrgood art coordinator for Project Home.
The non-profit runs an art in residency program that serves 13 Project Home resident and alumni artists. The group meets every Monday to learn paintings and the 60 pieces on display at Drexel's URBN Center at 3501 Market are the result.
"You'll see a lot of different subject matter and different varieties and their approaches," said Ehrgood. "We have surrealism, we have representational works we have landscapes."
All of the pieces are for sale, with prices ranging from 50 to 1700, and they're selling fast. Proceeds go to the artists and to Project Home. The exhibit closes April 24th. For more, go to projecthome.org.
