Drexel Gets Upset By Charleston In First Round Of CAA Tournament

BALTIMORE (AP) — Canyon Barry scored 14 of his 19 points in the second half as College of Charleston rallied for a 56-48 upset win over Drexel in the first round of Colonial Athletic Association tournament play on Friday night.

No. 10 seed Charleston (9-23) will face second-seeded North Carolina-Wilmington in the quarterfinal round Saturday.

Barry was 5 of 11 from the floor and made 7 of 7 from the line. Joe Chealey added 11 points and Terrance O'Donohue grabbed 14 rebounds.

The Cougars were shut out for over four minutes as seventh-seeded Drexel rallied to take a 46-44 lead with 3:41 left in the game. Charleston responded with a 12-2 run down the stretch to grab the victory.

Drexel led 29-24 at the half but the Cougars won the second period 32-19

Freddie Wilson led Drexel (11-19) with 17 points and Tavon Allen added 15.
