Drexel Falls To Southern Miss 66-49

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Jeremiah Eason scored 10 points, seven during a key second half run, as Southern Miss beat Drexel 66-49 Friday night.

Southern Miss led 31-28 at halftime, but Eason scored seven consecutive points to start the second half and Aaron Brown's 3-pointer capped the 10-0 run, for a 41-28 lead.

Neil Watson had a run of his own minutes later scoring eight in a row, including back-to-back 3-pointers and Southern Miss led 50-32 with 11:43 remaining.

Southern Miss (13-2) got 11 points from Brown, and 10 apiece from Michael Craig and Jerrold Brooks. The Golden Eagles out-rebounded Drexel by 28, led by Craig with 11.

Drexel averages 39.4 rebounds per game, ranked 51st, but had only 24 against Southern Miss.

Tavon Allen had 15 points for Drexel (8-5) and Chris Fouch added 13. The Dragons made just 5 of 17 free throws, compared to 24 of 32 for the Golden Eagles.
