Drexel Edged By Towson 75-73

TOWSON, Md. (AP) — Jerrelle Benimon scored 25 points to lead Towson in a 75-73 victory over Drexel after a tightly contested game on Saturday.

Benimon shot 8 of 12 from the floor and finished with eight rebounds. Rafriel Guthrie scored 18 points and Marcus Damas added 16 for the Tigers (13-8, 4-2 Colonial Athletic Association).

Tavon Allen made a tip shot with 7 seconds remaining that left Drexel trailing by just three points. Four McGlynn was quickly fouled and sent to the line, where he sank both of his free throws for Towson. Kazembe Abif hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer for the Dragons, but it wasn't enough to close the difference.

Towson held its largest lead of the competition at seven points.

The Dragons (11-9, 3-4) were led by Frantz Massenat with 18 points. Tavon Allen (17) and Abif (16) combined for 33 points off the bench.
