Dover Police Reunite Toddler Found Wandering Alone With His Family

DOVER, Del. (CBS) – Police in Delaware say they've successfully reunited a child found wandering the streets with his family.

On Monday around 8 a.m., police responded to the area of Colony Drive in Dover, where a resident had found a two-year-old identified only as Keegan wandering in the area alone.

That resident had taken the boy inside and immediately contacted police.

Officers took the boy to the station, where he reportedly watched television and played games with department employees, and worked to locate his family.

Approximately one hour after Keegan was brought into the custody of police, the boy's father contacted the department.

Officers say Keegan's father had worked a night shift and then fallen asleep while his children were still asleep.

Despite locking the doors to the home, the child apparently woke up and left the house without waking anyone else up.

Police say they will not be filing any charges against the boy's father, and the two were reunited earlier on Monday.
