Double Shooting At Unlicensed Tattoo Shop Leaves 1 Dead, Child Injured

CAMDEN, NJ (CBS) – Authorities in Camden County are investigating a fatal shooting in Camden Monday afternoon that left a 39-year old man dead, and a 12-year old boy hospitalized.

It happened just before 1 p.m. at what police say was an unlicensed tattoo parlor inside a home on Sewell Street.

The Camden County Prosecutor's Office says 39-year-old Kenny Moultrie of Clementon was shot and killed. A 12-year-old boy who lived at the residence was also shot, but the extent of his injuries is unknown.

The victim's neighbor tells CBS 3 that he actually talked to the 39-year-old earlier this morning and the victim mentioned to him that he was expecting some customers to swing by this afternoon.

"That was devastating, having a 12-year-old getting shot for this, it is not his fault," the neighbor said.

The boy is being treated at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

No arrests have been made at this time.  The incident remains under investigation.

No other details have been released, and the Prosecutor's Office is urging anyone with information to get in touch with detectives.
