Domonic Brown To Start Season On DL

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Phillies right-fielder Domonic Brown will start the 2015 season on the disabled list, general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. announced on Tuesday.

Brown, 27, continues to recover from Achillies tendinitis, as he missed 11 straight games after experiencing Achilles tendon soreness.

Brown was 7-29 (.241), with no homers, two RBI's, five walks, and seven strikeouts in 35 plate appearances during 11 Spring Training games. Brown is coming off a very disappointing 2014 season, where he hit just .235 with a .285 on-base percentage.

Jordan Danks, Brian Bogusevic, Jeff Francoeur and Russ Canzler are Brown's potential replacement in right-field. The Phillies begin their season on Monday, April 6th at Citizens Bank Park against the Boston Red Sox.
