Dole Recalling Spinach In Pennsylvania And New Jersey

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Dole is recalling bags of spinach in 13 states due to a contamination. The recall pulls 33,600 bags of spinach from the shelves and among the states included are Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

A random sample test found that some of the Dole product tested positive for salmonella.

Other states impacted by the recall include Connecticut, Indiana, Kentucky Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

The recall is voluntary and no illnesses have been reported in connection to the Dole product according to the company.

The impacted bags are coded A27409B & A27409A and have a use by date of October 15 as well as the UPC 7143000976. Consumers can call the company with questions at 800-356-3111.
