Dogs Show Their Phillies Spirit At Pup Rally

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Dozens of dogs in all shapes and sizes took over Schuylkill River Park for a pup rally on Sunday, a show of Phillies spirit.

"They're dressed in their Phillies finest, and we'll reward the top three dogs with Phillies prizes," said an event organizer.

So, just what were the pooches wearing?

"I made most of it actually," said the owner of one contestant, "the pants and the hat. The glasses we got at spring training and he always had the hoodie because his name is Utley. My son is an Utley fan, so he wanted him to wear this shirt."

"They've come to see the Philly Phanatic, so they have to look like the Philly Phanatic," said another.

All the dogs who participated got a Phillies rally towel and a pair of Phillies sunglasses to sport in the puppy parade led by the Phanatic.

The event also gave folks a chance to adopt a dog or cat of their own.
