Dog Shot In Delco, SPCA Sets Up Recovery Fund

MEDIA, PA (CBS) -- A dog was badly injured during a home invasion in Delaware County on Thursday.

As she continues her recovery you can offer assistance.

A man and his dog were shot during the home invasion on Pennell Road in Middletown Township. The man is recovering after being struck in the abdomen. His terrier mix - Faith - was shot in the head.

Faith underwent emergency surgery at West Chester Veterinary Medical Center. She is stable, but doctors there say her right eye will need to be removed.

The Brandywine Valley SPCA has set up a medical fund hoping to raise money to cover Faith's medical expenses and rehab. Faith's canine sibling is also staying at a West Chester shelter while their owner recovers. Money raised will help pay for that care.

The BVSPCA is also offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the shooter. If you have information call (484) 302-0018 or email aps@bvspca.org.
