District Police Officer Found Dead In Bathroom At George Washington High School

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia school district police officer was found dead in a high school bathroom Monday, a spokesperson with the School District of Philadelphia confirms.

Chopper 3 over George Washington High School in the 10000 block of Bustleton Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.

The district spokesperson says Sergeant Daryl Giles suffering a medical emergency and was found dead in a bathroom by a staff member.

The 50-year-old officer was reportedly not feeling well following a fight Monday morning at the school.

According to the school district, there was a large fight Monday morning that resulted in three students being arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Sgt. Giles was not assaulted during the fight.

Giles has been with the school police force for 19 years.  He was a longtime officer at George Washington High School.
