Now, less than one week after America may Donald Trump our president elect, some are pointing fingers social media giant, citing the distribution of fake news stories, racist Memes and the use of an algorithm that often filters post, based on where the user stance politically. According to a New York Times article, some Facebook executives are internally questioning what kind of influence they had, where their responsibility lies and if further censorship should be used.

"If they move to censorship the big question i have, who's making those decisions? and can those decisions be made by parties that are neutral?" Said Dr. Rob D'Ovido, a social media expert and Associate Dean for Drexel's College of Arts and Sciences. He says the idea behind a social network is to connect with individuals that are like you.

"When they start filtering, they run the risk of ruining that experience for individuals, partly because they're never going to get it right."

D'Ovidio says it's up to the individual user to use better judgment.

"Play the role as editor. look at sources they're viewing news through."
