Dick Vermeil, Merrill Reese & Fans Weigh In On Chip Kelly's Firing

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The voice of the Philadelphia Eagles, Merrill Reese, weighed in on the release of head coach Chip Kelly on Tuesday night.

The announcement came out of nowhere on Tuesday and CBS 3 Eyewitness News' Pat Gallen sat down with Reese to discuss the move.

"I don't know that there's one breaking point," Reese said of Lurie's ultimate decision to let Kelly go.

In addition to Reese, social media was also buzzing with reaction to the news. It was hard to scroll through Twitter without seeing news of the Eagles decision to let the enigmatic coach go.

Former Eagles head coach Dick Vermeil also shared his thoughts on the firing with Eyewitness News. Vermeil coached the Eagles from 1976-1982 and racked up a 57-51 record during that time.
