Democrats To Take The Debate Stage In Las Vegas

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Democratic candidates for president will meet in Las Vegas Tuesday night in a debate that will have impact, especially on one candidate.

If there was ever a time in her long public life that Hillary Clinton needed a win, Tuesday night's debate is it.

Her lead for the Democratic nomination is unquestioned. Her overall approval ratings among all voters has tanked according to the latest CBS News poll.

Bernie Sanders is creeping up in key early stares, in some cases, like New Hampshire, taking temporary leads. And Joe Biden is near some decision.

It's also a big night for Martin O'Malley the former Governor of Maryland, who needs a platform and Rhode Island's Lincoln Chaffee and Virginia's Jim Webb.

But in the end, Hillary Clinton and her energy and leadership skills, or the lack of it, may set the course, and impact Joe Biden's decision one way or the other.
