Delaware Woman Charged With 4th DUI After Flipping SUV

LEWES, Del. (CBS) -- Police in Delaware say a woman was arrested and charged with her 4th DUI after she was involved in a single-car crash.

The crash happened at about 10:10 p.m. Thursday on New Road near Old Orchard Road in Lewes.

According to investigators, 42-year-old Jean M. Steiner was driving a Chevy Suburban when the SUV traveled off the south side of the roadway before she attempted to steer the SUV back onto the roadway, where it overturned and came to a stop in the middle of the road on its roof.

Steiner was transported by EMS to Beebe Medical Center where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

She has been charged by Delaware State Police with her 4th Offense Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (three previous convictions: 1/3/09, 9/25/10, and 4/11/11), Failure to Have Insurance in Possession, Failure to Have Registration in Possession and Failure to Remain in a Single Lane.

Steiner was arraigned and was being held at the Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution in lieu of $6,003.00 cash bond.
