Delaware Officers Uncover Portable Meth Lab

CAMDEN, DE (CBS) -- Delaware State Troopers uncovered a portable meth lab during the course of another investigation and busted the illegal operation.

Officials say the troopers were on the 5000 block of Mud Mill Road in Camden with an arrest warrant for 37-year-old James Murphy on felony theft charges. An investigation revealed that the residence had been abandoned and when the owner of the property responded to the residence, Murphy and a female subject, identified as 30-year-old Brittney Ebright, refused to leave.

The pair were taken into custody without incident. Investigators say Murphy was found to be in possession of one bundle of heroin.

They were charged with operating a clandestine lab, conspiracy to the second degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Murphy is also being charged for possession of heroin and resisting arrest.
