Delaware Man Arrested For 5th DUI

HARRINGTON, Del. (CBS) -- A Delaware man was arrested and charged with his fifth driving under the influence offense.

Forty-seven-year-old Randall W. Bowden was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with driving under the Influence, driving with a suspended or revoked license, failure to remain in a single lane and possession of a suspended license.

According to the Harrington Police Department, they received a 911 call at about 1 a.m. about a possible intoxicated driver on South DuPont Highway entering Harrington.

Officers eventually located the car and observed the vehicle exiting the left lane and driving on the shoulder.

The officer pulled the car over and investigators said the officer detected an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.

The officer administered standard field sobriety tests to Bowden. After performing the tests, he was taken into custody.

A computer check revealed Bowden had a suspended driver's license and he also had four previous DUI convictions dating back to 2001.

He was arraigned and sent to the Sussex Correctional Institute on $6,500 cash bail.
