Delaware Defeats Drexel 58-44

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Kyle Anderson scored 16 points and Maurice Jeffers added 10 with nine rebounds as Delaware beat Drexel 58-44 and held onto a chance at the postseason on Thursday night.

Delaware (9-19, 8-9 Colonial Athletic Association) can clinch a sixth seed into the CAA Tournament with a win at Towson, or a Drexel loss, on Saturday.

Drexel (10-18, 8-9) lost its fourth in a row and learned Sunday it has lost Damion Lee for the remainder of the season with a fractured hand. Lee is the nation's fourth-leading scorer who's had five 30-point games this season.

Anderson hit a layup to put Delaware ahead 4-2 early then added a layup, two free throws and a 3-pointer as the Blue Hens launched a 12-2 run to break away.

Freddie Wilson scored 12 points to lead Drexel, which shot 30 percent (20-66).

For Delaware, it was the fewest points allowed since 2012.
