Delaware County Hospital Given All-Clear After Partial Evacuation Over Gas Odor

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- A hospital in Delaware County has been given the all-clear after being partially evacuated Thursday morning due to a gas odor.

The fire department was dispatched for a gas odor at Riddle Memorial Hospital at 1068 West Baltimore Pike in Media around 9:30 a.m.

The hospital says that patients and staff "were immediately evacuated from the affected areas" while PECO and local fire officials investigated the odor.

"We can report at this time that PECO and local fire officials have confirmed that there is no gas leak on the Riddle Hospital campus, and all areas of the hospital have been cleared and are fully operational," the hospital said in a statement.

No injuries were reported.
